SYNOPSIS*

All Out Of Love

JACK THOMAS is a twenty-something average guy with no job, and little prospects of finding one.  He spends most of his time watching television, trying to convince his girlfriend to sleep with him, playing hockey and hanging with his friends. CHRISTIE LETNER is Jack's girlfriend. She's cute, smart, and has her ducks in a row regarding her future. At times, she wonders why she is still dating Jack. For the most part, she loves Jack and hopes that he will get his act together and get a job. Jack initially appears as if he wants to make the relationship work. He actually goes out and gets a job helping mentally delayed adults. However, after quickly being fired for inadvertently allowing several of the mentally delayed adults to watch a porno film, Jack finds himself in the doghouse, and at his friend's mercy.

Jack has a motley crew of male friends: DEAN FERRIS is a foul-mouth hockey-lingo obsessed guy who brags about dating a virgin and cheating on her with other woman; TOM is a quiet chubby oriental seemingly doomed to be a virgin; BOB is gothic-looking film fanatic who oddly enough seems to the most normal of Jack's friend; and CRAIG a not-so-smooth-talking, foul talking "chick" magnet, which is clearly an oxymoron, but that's exactly the point. Jack's friends are all looking out for his best interest and advise him to get out of his relationship in order to engage in frivolous singles person's fun, like going to strip clubs and sleeping with multiple women. Jack, who is reluctant to break Christie's heart by explicitly admitting that he wants out, ponders the idea of trying to make Christie break up with him. However, after Jack fails at an attempt to make Christie think he is gay by pretending to hookup with a guy (only to find out his father took the bait instead and now thinks his son is gay), Jack is forced to determine whether Christie is the one for him.

Jack engages in several escapades with his friends while deciding whether to break up with his girlfriend. During a night out the group goes to a strip club to help Jack forget about Christie. Of course, all Jack can do is talk about Christie even to a stripper who was hired to give him a lap dance by his friends. Through a boys night out we are given a closer look at Jack's friends, and all of their sexist and piggish glory. Is this what single life is all about, Jack ponders?

In what appears to be Jack's last attempt at either dumping Christie or making a good impression on her, Jack and Christie attend a wedding together. At the advice of a friend, Jack gets high on pot so as to not have to deal with Christie's relatives at the wedding. In a high stupor, Jack accidentally feels on another woman sitting next to him thinking it is Christie's thigh. Later, Christie finds Jack to talk to him about what happened at the wedding, only to overhear that Jack has been sabotaging the relationship. She confronts him and declares the relationship over.

Eventually, Jack tries to get Christie back. First, he visits her at school, but discovers her kissing another woman. Then at the advice of his aunt JEAN, Jack visits Christie on Christmas to discuss the relationship. During the discussion they both realize just how much they truly love each other and work it out.
